Carmen Miranda's Platform Stage Shoes W/Provenance - These elaborate stage shoes were owned and worn by Carmen Miranda. Carmen Miranda was a Portuguese-born Brazilian samba singer, dancer, Broadway actress and film star who was active from the 1930s on. Miranda is known for her signature fruit hat outfit she wore in her American films, and was nicknamed "The Brazilian Bombshell". These elaborate stage shoes have a gold-colored design decorated with fabric braiding and colorless rhinestones. They have an open-toe, six inch heel and two and a half inch platform. The shoes were previously sold at auction in 1995, and retain the original lot tag and will come with a copy of the auction catalog page.
