"Elvis and Charlie" Signed Poem by Charlie Hodge W/Photos - This poem was written by Charlie Hodge as a tribute to Elvis Presley after his tragic passing in 1977. Charlie Hodge was Elvis' personal friend of more than 17 years, living at Graceland with the entertainer from the early 1960s until his passing in 1977. Hodge appeared in some of Elvis' movies and was his on stage announcer, and also played rhythm guitar, sang harmony and placed the world famous silk scarves around Elvis' neck.
