As a leader of the Weather Underground, Ayers wife Bernardine Dohrn helped to create a "Declaration of a State of War" against the United States government and was placed on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list, where she remained for three years. After coming out of hiding, Dohrn pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of aggravated battery and bail jumping and was later jailed for contempt of court.
