An inuksuk is a manmade stone landmark used by the peoples of the Arctic region in North America. They have been historically used for many purposes, including navigation, travel markers, to denote places of veneration or importance, and drift fences. Inuksuik have ancient roots in Inuit culture and today are used as a symbol by several indigenous groups as well as by the Canadian government.
