Antique CHARLES F. ULRICH Glass Blowers Of Murano Black and White Photogravure on paper (circa 1890), inscription at the top reads Charles F. ULRICH, lower inscriptions read Photogravure Goupil & Co., D. Appleton & Co. New York, and Glass Blowers. Subject is a black and white photogravure printed replica of Charles F. Ulrichs 1886 Glass Blowers of Murano painting currently in the Metropolitan Museum of Art collection, window measures approx 13 in. long x 10 in. wide, frame measures approx 15 1/2 in. long x 12 1/2 in. wide, gold toned wood frame, surface wear to frame, professionally framed, not examined out of frame. Plaque on frame reads Worthey J. Pulver, 1934 President Canaan Motors, INC. Charles Frederick Ulrich was a noted late nineteenth-century realist painter of portraits and genre scenes who spent much of his life as an expatriate in Europe. He was born in New York, the son of a German emigre photographer and painter. His first studies were with little-known the painter and lithographer, Francis Venino.
