Description

A very difficult bank to find. Place a coin in the monkey's hand and press lever at the base of the tree. The monkey throws the coin at the lion who opens his mouth and simultaneously catches it. At the same time, the small monkey jumps up onto the mother's back. From the Tanenbaum Collection. Painted cast iron. In working order. Exhibits scattered areas of minor to moderate paint loss with slightly heavier losses on the lion's face. The lion is missing an eye and the back of the baby monkey shows evidence of damage and glue repairs. American (Frankford, PA., USA). Patent July 17, 1883. 9" H x 3.5" W x 9.25" D. CODE-BAN
