Description
11th-12th century of early style with centered cross beam and the beam tips crossed in the Jerusalem Cross fashion used through the Crusades. The borders extending as “crutches" at the beam terminals describing five crosses in one, known as the Crusader's cross, having been an element in the arms of Godfrey of Bouillon which he wore during the First Crusade. He was made the first King of Jerusalem. For that reason, it is also known as the Jerusalem Cross. 1 1/2" height. Worn and surface textured from burial. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored, on a modern gilt neck chain and gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
