Jade Snow Wong (American, 1922-2006)
Large-scale bowl, 1940s
Enameled copper. Studio-made in San Francisco, CA.
Underside incised with artist's signature, inscription and "G-15."
2.5" H x 10.25" Diameter
The bowl’s dimensions and color are very similar to the bowl that the Metropolitan Museum of Art purchased from the artist in 1948. Between 1947 and 1952 her work was featured in no fewer than twelve exhibitions and in 1952, the Art Institute of Chicago organized her first one-person exhibition which traveled to several other museums after its initial presentation.

Condition
Very good vintage condition. Some occasional internal crackling to enamel but no chips or cracks. Underside with nice patina.
