2 American 19th Century Drawings: a hand drawn Ship Route Map in pencil by Charles H Miller MD of the Ship Harvest Queen on a 1864 voyage from New York City to Liverpool, the verso with various map notations and the lower right corner recto with a full description; the map now between 2 sheets of glass to the edges; together with a Salmagundi Sketch Club Exhibition Invitation, 1880 with a brown ink sketch of a Lady in a Fancy Hat signed indistinctly in pencil and inscribed to Charles H Miller in ink at the top (Miller gave up Medicine for art after his trip to Europe on the Harvest Queen), matted and framed in an Aesthetic Movement Frame. Height of map 15 inches (38 cm.) X width of map 22 inches (56 cm.). NOTE: Harvest Queen was a packet ship of the Black Ball Line built in 1854, by William H. Webb, which sank in a collision with the steamer Adriatic in 1875. The artist Charles Henry Miller, a recent graduate of New York Homeopathic Medical College, sailed on the Harvest Queen as ship's surgeon in 1864, under Captain Hutchinson. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvest_Queen
