Description
British WWI medal group (trio) of 1914 Star with 5th Aug-22nd Nov 1914 bar, British War medal and WWI Victory medal all named to "33141 Driver Percy Heaviside. Royal Horse Artillery". Medals exhibit some toning with slight wear to ribbons. Medals are accompanied by: 1.) Miniature WWI medal trio with significant wear to ribbons. 2.) Royal Artillery hat badge and shoulder brass (2) one "R.H.A." other "R.F.A.". 3.) Silver "For King and Empire Services Rendered" badge numbered on reverse "288592". 4.) "Old Contemptibles Association Aug 4 to Nov 22 1914" collar stud numbered on reverse "7571D". 5.) "Comrades of the Great War" lapel stud numbered on reverse "92796". 6.) Small (0.75") sterling pin with artillery piece, British flag and text "It's A Long Way to Tipperary". 7.) Enveloped card (some splitting) that was presented with a Princess Mary Christmas Box. The grouping is housed in a brass Princess Mary 1914 Christmas Box measuring 3.5" x 5.25" x 1.25" that exhibits some slight wear. Grouping is further accompanied by a real photographic post card of Heaviside in uniform and numerous pay and personnel documents. Provenance: Stanley Bright collection.
