In honor of the coming of the new millennium, Dale Chihuly mounted a massive exhibition entitled 'Chihuly in the Light of Jerusalem 2000' where he created 17 installations inside the walls of a historic fortress. This exhibit was seen by over a million visitors.

The offered lot was part of a series that began in 1999 with gaffer James Mongrain, in conjunction with Flora Mace and Joey Kirkpatrick where bold chunky glass crystals were skillfully fused onto glass cylinders. The crystal-like chunks of glass were inspired by the monumental walls Chihuly had seen at the Citadel in Jerusalem.
