Description
A group of three Chinese stone carvings dating from the 18th century. Two of the carvings come attached to wooden stands. One jade carving is of a boy holding a reed, and it comes with a stand. Another brown jade carving is of a boy with a duck. The final carving is done in black and white stone with red inclusions. It features the Taming Tiger Luohan and the Taming Dragon Luohan with their respective animals. It comes with a stand.
Dimensions are: the jade carving measures 2 1/4 inches tall X 1 1/4 inches long X 3/4 inches wide, 5.7 cm X 3.2 cm X 1.9 cm. The brown jade carving measures 1 3/4 inches tall X 3 inches long X 1 1/2 inches wide, 4.4 cm X 7.6 cm X 3.8 cm. The stone carving of the Luohan measures 1 3/4 inches tall X 1 inch in diameter, 4.4 cm X 2.5 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Two of the carvings are attached to their wooden stands. The jade boy is in good condition otherwise. The brown jade boy has two cracks, one to the chin and one to the front of the leg, as well as minor chipping and age wear. The stone carving of the Luohan has a few small chips to the edges, along with being glued to its stand.
