A Chinese famille rose porcelain snuff bottle with a 4-character mark of Daoguang and of the period. The body features roosters with flowers. The stopper has a metal spoon.

Dimensions are: 2 1/2 inches tall X 2 inches long X 1 1/4 inches wide, 6.4 cm X 5.1 cm X 3.2 cm. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: The rim has one chip, and the foot has chipping.

Provenance: From the private, premier collection of a gentleman in Cleveland, Ohio. The items in the collection were acquired starting in the 1970s from auction houses including Christie's, Sotheby's, and Bonhams, as well as from various private collections in the United States. Works from this collection were offered in Oakridge Auction Gallery's December 2, 2021 sale titled "Appreciating Extravagance: Chinese Artwork from an Important Collection in Ohio."
