A Chinese inside-painted glass snuff bottle by Yan Yutian with a stopper and a spoon. One side of the bottle features a scene with a bird and a beast among pine trees. The other side has an assemblage of scholarly objects as well as an inscription and one seal.

Dimensions are: 2 7/8 inches tall X 2 3/8 inches long X 1 3/4 inches wide, 7.3 cm X 6 cm X 4.4 cm. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: There are minuscule chips throughout.

Provenance: From the private, premier collection of a gentleman in Cleveland, Ohio. The items in the collection were acquired starting in the 1970s from auction houses including Christie's, Sotheby's, and Bonhams, as well as from various private collections in the United States. Works from this collection were offered in Oakridge Auction Gallery's December 2, 2021 sale titled "Appreciating Extravagance: Chinese Artwork from an Important Collection in Ohio."
