GORHAM "JOSEPHINE" COIN SILVER FLATWARE AND SERVING UTENSILS, LOT OF 27, pattern designed by John Gorham in 1855, most with personalized engraving to handles, comprising 16 7 3/8-7 5/8" place forks, a soup/dessert spoon, two teaspoons, a serving/tablespoon, three shell sugar spoons, a mustard ladle, a large sugar sifter or pierced serving spoon with shell bowl, and two sauce ladles. Each marked "PATENT 1855" or "PAT '55" and "COIN", some pieces with retailer's marks, including ten pieces with retailer's marks for J.T. & E.M. Edwards of Chicago, IL. Total weight: 38.755 ozt. Gorham & Co. / Gorham Mfg. Co., Providence, RI. Mid/third quarter 19th century. 5 1/2" to 8 5/8" L.
