Pair of Chinese Huanghuali Horseshoe Armchairs. Each chair had arm handrails that were slightly rounded out on the lips. The stand is made of flexible rattan knitted. On the back there is a rectangular support with carved auspicious ornament and scrolling ruyi. Raised with four strong straight legs, which can be folded to be compact with a strong lock on the left and right side. Bridged by sturdy stretched bars to two sides that conjoined each leg. This Chinese chairs gives a strong and antique impression of luxury. Huanghuali, or yellow flowering pear wood, Originally know as huali or huali, the color can range from reddish-brown to golden-yellow. The sweet fragrance of huali distinguishes it from the similar appearing but pungent-adored hongmu. The finest Huanghuali has a translucent shimmering surface with abstractly figured patterns that delight the eye. It has distinctive form and elegant ornamentation. It is intact, with exquisite mortise-tenon technique.
