Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong Red and Gold Five Sense Porcelain Cong Vase On Carved Hardwood Stand. Potted in shape vase, thick and short, squared body, with short circle opening mouth and have four small mouth, raised on round shallow foot base and slight concave. Essentially tubes with a square cross-section and ​having rib molded corners in form along the sides stacked as modules, one atop another. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in red base color which contrast against gold over glaze, depicted of scrolling tendril interspersed interlocking ruyi and auspicious pattern. Red represents fire and is the most popular color in China. It is also the national color representing happiness, beauty, vitality, good luck, success and good fortune. And Gold is a color of completeness, wealth, metal, God consciousness, richness and nobility. Combinations of gold and red are seen on special occasions and is a winning color combination.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed red script characters reign mark. Made in The Years Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
