Chinese Song Dynasty Hutian Glazed Porcelain Buddha Guanyin. This statue of Buddha with Peaceful, smiling, beautiful and youthful, giving peaceful appearance, body painted naturally over cold gilt silver. Adorned with flowing silks of various garments and jewel ornaments, and tiara. Buddha is shown seated in meditative posture with legs folded in Dhyasana and the hands held in Samadhi mudra, symbolic of the Buddha's entry into a state of profound meditation upon a lotus blossom throne position on a double lotus throne. Its blue hair is gathered into a topknot and the hair textures are carved clear and exquisite. This sculpture appears to be the perfect example, by any artistic tradition, both for technical precision and exquisite form.
