19th C. Biedermeier Biedermeyer Empire Secretary Dresser Cabinet. This stunning secretary features an ornately paneled front with matched flame grain veneer in what appears to be mahogany, and interior slots in an unusual yellow stain to match the curly maple drawer fronts which stand out nicely from the dark wood frame. Almost becomes a kind of wunderkammer-style display cabinet when opened. Writing surface drops down with integrated counterweights, with ample storage space below. Typical of the German and Central Europe style of the first half of the 19th century, with neoclassical elements including columns and scrollwork, as well as richly colored wood veneers.

Dimensions are 59 in h x 50.25 in w x 23 in d. Condition is fair, consistent with age and heavy use, with broken veneer throughout, many chips, and significant wear to wood.
