This is a pair of vintage designer Chanel gold tone dangle earrings made in France. The earrings feature faceted crystal and red Gripoix beads. Eponymously named, "Gripoix" glass was created by Augustina Gripoix, a French a glassworker who revived and refined an old technique of poured glass. Her daughter Susanne continued the tradition after Augustine's death in the early 1920s. Though the house of Gripoix had many important clients and commissions, it was the relationship with Gabrielle (Coco) Chanel that became the most iconic and enduring example of their work.
