Finely woven semi-antique Persian carpet. The carpet has a tag that identifies it as of Tabriz origin while it does resemble pieces of Bijar / Bidjar origin in design and structure. Measures: H 57" x W 38" Provenance: From the estate collection of John Stage. Mr. Stage was a well regarded and widely known photojournalist. His work was used in many prominent publications from the 1950's onwards. The following provided courtesy of the Stage Family. As a freelance photojournalist for 38 years, assignments from magazines (Holiday, Life, Look, National Geographic, Travel & Leisure, Town & Country), book publishers and occasional advertising agencies took him to all 50 states and more than 100 foreign countries.
