Description
An Alexander II late 19th century Russian 84 zoltonik silver gilt kiddish cup, Moscow 1874 by Fedor Ivanov (active 1843-82) Tapering cylindrical form with a moulded edge, upon a domed foot, engraved decoration of foliate forms and strapwork against a striated ground. Maker’s mark ФИ (Postnikova 2953), assay master Aggy Grigoryevich Svechin (active 1862-75). Together with another gilt Kiddish cup, Saint Peterburg 1898-1908 by Г.P (untraced). Both also with Soviet era marks for Moscow 1954-58. (2) Taller – 8.9 cm / 3.5 inches Shorter – 8.5 cm / 3.3 inches Weight – 90 grams / 2.89 ozt
