Indo-Persian Hookah Scene Painting Ca. 19th century. Size 10”H. x 7-3/4”W., 15-1/2”H. x 13-1/4”W. (framed) Finely detailed painting on paper depicting an outdoor court scene of a prince and princess, under an open enclosure, smoking a hookah. Four female attendants in service, a small pond in the foreground with a fountain and two birds. All contained in an oval border with outer very finely painted floral border. Exc. cond. Gilt wood frame, under glass. A beautiful example. Provenance: Collection of Edmund Bourke, MD., Yonkers, NY.
