Description
Erte "Sophistication" Diamond, Mother of Pearl, 14K Yellow Gold and Sterling Silver Limited Edition Necklace-Brooch #80/250 - This exquisite piece was designed by the father of Art Deco himself, Romain de Tirtoff (Erte). The necklace is from Erte's extremely limited edition jewelry collection made in collaboration with the Circle Fine Art Gallery, which he created beginning in 1979 and called "Art to Wear". This "Sophistication" necklace features a design first created by Erte in 1925 as a costume design entitled "Arctic Sea". The necklace is crafted in 14k yellow gold and sterling silver and features a mother of pearl delicately sculpted into the face of a woman, wearing an intricately carved precious metal headdress paved with glittering diamonds. The piece is also embellished with inset yellow diamond accents, completing the piece beautifully. The piece has a versatile, convertible design as the brooch can be removed and the piece can be worn separately as a necklace and brooch. This is a true statement piece that is sure to turn heads. The necklace is signed "Erte" on the mother of pearl and marked "CFA", "Sterling & 14K", and "80/250". Measurements: 16" length, brooch-1"W x 5"L (includes fringe). Condition: The necklace is in excellent estate condition with very light signs of gentle wear. (WEIGHT: 87.7 grams)
