This booklet is a photographic copy of an original album of 28 B& W photos of Southern California island scenes entitled Our Log. The original photos and hand-drawn illustrations appear to record an 1897 journey by sea taken by several people exploring the islands off the coast of southern California. The first page is noted "one end," and the last page is noted "other end," and concludes with the exclamation, "My! What a rattling good time we had." This album is constructed of fourteen, single-sided, 4 x 6-1/4-inch photographic copies on stiff paper with front-and-back cardboard covers held together with a tan plastic comb binding. The date of the photographic copying is unknown, however plastic comb binding did not become commonplace until the 1950s and 60s. Excellent condition.
