Western Europe, England, Victorian period, ca. 1860s CE. A sizable, wheel-thrown porcelain bowl with broad, flared walls and a thick rim atop a squat, annular foot. The lustrous exterior surfaces are a clean white hue with raised, fluted panels across the lower walls. Coral red leaves and stems are interspersed among blue leaves that are outlined in golden pigment and have gold-painted stems. The interior basin is adorned with a singular stripe of golden pigment as are both the top of the rim and foot exterior. Included is a large ewer with similar decorative motifs as the bowl, a scalloped pouring spout, and an avian-form handle. Size (bowl): 15.375" Diameter x 5.5" H (39.1 cm x 14 cm); (ewer): 8.25" W x 12.3" H (21 cm x 31.2 cm)

Condition
Abrasions to top of rim, foot, exterior surfaces, and basin, with one stable hairline fissure stemming from rim, otherwise intact and very good. Nice lustrous surfaces throughout. Ewer has minor abrasions but is intact and very good.
