This framed lithograph from '10 ans de courses, les marques victorieuses 1897-1907' (10 years or car races, the winning makes 1897 - 1907), by Ernest Montaut who specialised in this subject.This print is hand pochoired (painted with stencils) and from the period. This print come with an onion skin cover sheet that is attached to the back fo the frame under plastic. Beautifully framed as was on exhibition in a US car museum.This particular lithograph depicts the race of the Eliminatoire de 1905 En Auvergne) and states on the sheet on the back, "Duray, sur Lorraine-Dietrich, se classe troiseme et fait partie de 1'equipe qui defendra la coupe Gordon Bennett."(1905 Eliminatory In Auvergne) and states on the sheet on the back, "Duray, on Lorraine-Dietrich, is placed third and is part of the team that will defend the Gordon Bennett Cup." It is in very good condition.
