Promotional booklet issued under the auspices of the Chicago, Milwaukee, and St. Paul Railway, and its sister line, the Chicago, Milwaukee, and Puget Sound Railway. Provides facts and figures about the farming communities in North and South Dakota as reported in letters from settlers dated between Dec. 1, 1909 and Jan. 8, 1910. Many of the towns and cities are illustrated halftone photos - some of them had populations of just 200-400 people. OCLC/WorldCat locates two copies, at Saint Olaf College in Minnesota, and Southern Methodist. Although the OCLC listing dates the booklet as 1911, this copy with pencil ownership signature on blank verso of p.31 dated April 6, 1910.
