This is an ornate vintage Mid Century designer Hobe necklace and earrings suite with delicate beaded details. Hobe costume jewelry is among the finest in quality and design. The Hobe name dates to the late 19th century in Paris as Hobe et Cie. The original family wanted to create jewelry for the middle class and upper classes, using fine jewelry techniques, but using non-precious materials to make jewelry affordable. Around 1915, Hobe branched out into America setting up shop in Mt. Vernon, NY where it enjoyed great patronage and acclaim especially among the Hollywood set.
