Non-objective sculpture of folded bronze sheets and thick twisted bands forming angular shapes. Steiner is a leading member of the Bennington School with works at the Portland Art Museum, the Neuburger Museum of Art, the Laumier Sculpture Park and Museum, and the Denver Art museum among many others. Sculpture comes with 1978 and 1979 "Michael Steiner: New Sculpture" catalogs from Andre Emmerich Gallery, New York where it was originally purchased.
Approx. 13" t x 22" w x 19" d.
Originally purchased from Andre Emmerich Gallery, New York. From the collection of an Uxbridge, Massachusetts gentleman.
Signed and dated "MS 77" on rear of sculpture.
