Franklin B. De Haven
New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, 1856-1934
Impressionist depiction of a wagon loaded with hay from a nearby pile by a stone wall while dark clouds form overhead. De Haven was a student of George Henry Smillie during the time that the American Barbizon School was flourishing. He was a member of the National Academy of Design, Salmagundi Club, the National Arts Club, and the Allied Artists of America.
