Description
1756 Mirabeau ECONOMICS Ami des Hommes Finance Money Population Physiocrat 4v
A famous French economic treatise!
Victor de Riqueti de Mirabeau was an 18th-century French economist most-remembered for his political treatise Ami des Hommes. First appearing in 1756, LAmi or Treaty on the Population defines the essence of economic doctrine in three distinct points –
1. True wealth consists only in the population
2. The population depends on sustenance
3. Self-sustaining comes from the earth
After LAmi saw significant success, Mirabeau was nicknamed Friend of Man even though Francois Quesnay is often attributed to this work.
This 1756 Avignon edition was the same year as the first printing – a very rare, early edition!
