Vintage Collectible Ukrainian Soviet Nonconformist Artworks.Oleg Arkadyevich Sokolov, 1919 - 1990, - Ukrainian Soviet artist, poet, painter and graphic artist, who stood at the origins of the "second Odessa avant-garde" Oleg Sokolov grew up in a family of hereditary intellectuals. From 1935 to 1939 he studied at the Odessa Art College. He studied with Theophilus Fraerman, an artist who belonged to both the Odessa Independents and the Parisian school, who were friends and exhibited with Rouault, Chagall, Matisse. Oleg Sokolov created cycles of graphics, taking a great interest in op-art, abstraction, looking for connections between color, composition and music.
