Roy McLendon (African American; Florida, born 1932). Original Florida Highwayman oil painting on found object upson board. Florida landscape, with a large central Royal Poinciana tree surrounded by additional trees and flora, under a pink and blue sky. Signed lower right R.A. MCLENDON. McLendon was an original founding member of The Florida Highwaymen, 1950s and 1960s era landscape artists mentored by Albert Ernest (Beanie) Backus (1906-1990). Presented in a rustic wood frame. Work Size: 23.75 x 19.75 in.
