stable and solid; nice surface overall- presents well; some occasional age splits, and with some occasional flaking to paint and gesso elements, with a few chipped areas particularly along edges; some signs of retouching, especially to formerly flaked areas; lower drawers does not close fully flush with case, and one handle slightly loose, but not a major issue; drawers lined nicely with newer fabric and trim; some occasional minor wormholes commensurate with age
