Description
Fine Antique Haida Horn Spoon, Pacific Northwest Coast, 2nd half 19th C. This type of spoon is traditionally made from a pair of sheep or mountain goat horns, one shaped, boiled, and opened out to form the bowl, the other carved, without altering its original curve or diameter, into the form of a small totem pole. Small copper rivets fasten the two parts together. Stand not included. Provenance: Ex. Collection Charles Parsons, by family descent. Size: 11'' x 2.75'' x 3.25'' (28 x 7 x 8 cm).
