A pair of matching high quality Kargas Furniture Co. French Louis XVI style parlor chairs, down filled, having curved fluted arms that lead to acanthus carving at terminal of chair apron that has rosettes in corners and a carves skirt above the tapered and fluted legs. Note the use of removable silk covers over the upholstery on arms to prevent wear (they are attached by Velcro under the arms). 20th century. Each chair measures 24"W x 25 1/4"D x 37 1/2"H x 20"H (seat height). Maker's label attached to underside of chair. Both chairs are very clean and are in very good if not excellent condition including the fabric. The Kargas Furniture Company was started in 1886 and remained in the same family until it was sold to Kindel Furniture Company in 2014. The company made custom high-end furniture which was sold mostly to designers and sold through wholesale showrooms.
