Description

Mid Century Modern Mummenthaler & Meier Magic Desk Box. This is the iconic Mid-century Modern Magic Box, or Desk-in-a-Box, attributed to the Swiss architects and designers Mummenthaler & Meier. It has an incredibly sleek and clever design, where the "box" unfolds to reveal a full office desk complete with a fold-out desktop, a drawer, numerous shelves, and an adjustable lamp. At the end of the work day, the desk folds back up, a discreet storage solution. This triumph of design is the perfect way to separate work and play.

Dimensions are 45 in h x 59.5 in w x 30 in d. Condition is very good. There is minor surface wear. There are scuffs throughout, and small cracks where the doors close. The original, retractable desk lamp appears to be missing, and the more contemporary desk lamp retrofitted. The bottommost shelves also appear to be missing, but could be easily replaced. The key is missing, so the box does not lock. Please call or email for a detailed condition report.
