Simon du Cros was a 17th-century French author who is relatively unknown today. However, his importance lies in his role at the Dutch Treaties of Nijmegen which ended numerous conflicts between France, Spain, Denmark, Norway, and the Netherlands. While serving as an ambassador the proceedings, Cros wrote a letter answering many of the concerns about English diplomat William Temple, which was published in English in 1693.
