Description
1644 Francesco Negri Ciriaco House of Gonzaga Mantua Italy Allegationes Nevers
Francesco Negri Ciriaco was an early 17th-century Italian politician and senator who, today, is remembered for very little. However, his legacy remains in the form of a legal treatise arguing for the legitimacy of Charles I Gonzaga Duke of Mantua following the reign of Vincenzo II of Gonzaga. This book, which was published under numerous titles over the 17th-century, became an important book on the history of the Gonzaga government and political successions in Italy. (Grendler)
