The sale of this lot is final.. Was born in 1911 and was predominantly inspired by the 1930s. In New York. He was an abstract painter, and studied at the Art Students League and Pratt Institute. Solomon was an artist-in-residence for four years at Princeton University. He helped found the Jane Street Gallery, an artists' cooperative in Greenwich Village. Artists Helen Dunham, Theodore Fonville Winans, Dorothea Bautz, Frantisek Vincenc Danihelka, and Henri Durand are of the same generation. Hyde Solomon's work has been offered at auction multiple times, with excellent completion accuracy. He died in 1982.
