Dog's Head and Woodcock
Signed, dated, and inscribed "A.F. Tait N.A./N.Y. 88." in red l.r.
Oil on canvas, 10 x 14 1/8 in. (25.5 x 36.0 cm), in a period frame.
Condition: Wax lined, stretcher replaced, craquelure, retouch, areas of skinning to the background.
N.B. This work conforms closely to the description of no. 88.7 in "A Checklist of His Works" as compiled by Henry F. Marsh and published in Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait, Artist in the Adirondacks (Newark: University of Delaware Press, 1986), p. 283.
