Description
A group of two works of pottery art. The group includes a paint and transfer print decorated pearlware mug, circa 1800, depicting the 'West View of the Cast Iron Bridge Over the River Wear' with a poem on the reverse and a frog in the interior. Also included is a later continental majolica vase featuring a bird in flight.
Dimensions are: the vase measures 9 1/2 inches tall X 6 1/2 inches wide, 24.13 cm X 16.51 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: The pearlware mug is cracked and repaired at the rim, and has firing defects. The mug is faded and discolored. There is no noted damage on the vase.
Provenance: From a private VA collection.
