Description
Early 19th century, circa 1830-40's English. A heavy weight solid brass fireplace trivet or "iron footman" would have sat on a hearth to hold a teakettle or jam pot to simmer in the fire. Measuring approx 18.5" wide x 12" tall. See photos for details.
