Newmark, Marilyn (American 1928-2013) patinated bronze sculpture entitled "Man O' War" from 1977. Patinated bronze sculpture of racehorse Man O' War mid-race with jockey with medium dark patina and mounted on a stained wood base with title plaque. Signed and dated on base near horse's back foot.
Weight approx., 19 lbs Born in New York, Marilyn Newmark is a horse sculptor, including racehorses and equestrian pieces. she is known for her ability to capture details. in 1971, she won the Anna Hyatt Huntington Award and in 1972, her equestrian sculpture, "Hacking House", was selected for the Madison Square Garden Trophy.
