Native American, Southwestern USA, Arizona and New Mexico, Polacca, Hopi-Tewa Peoples, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. Wedding vase signed "M. Sakeva Polacca" on base. A wonderful pair of pottery vessels, a double-spouted wedding vase and an olla. First, the lovely wedding vase presents a flat, ovoid base and an egg-shaped body with 2 tall spouts rising above it connected by a ribbon-form handle. The vase is enveloped in a light grey slip and adorned with an abstract geometric motif along its exterior walls, hand-painted in black and orange. Alternatively, the vase presents a narrow base and thick walls that flare outwards to a wide shoulder with a broad neck and flared rim. A lovely abstract pattern is hand-painted in black and orange along its exterior walls and the entire piece is covered by a creamy beige slip. Size (of largest): 5.5" in diameter x 7.6" H (14 cm x 19.3 cm)
