Description
**First Time At Auction**
Ancient Near East, The Levant, Archaic / Proto-Literate Period, ca. 3000 to 2500 BCE. A fine stamp seal bead of hexagonal form carved by hand from dark blue-gray steatite. The seal features a petite suspension nubbin along the verso. The stamp face is incised with three stylized zoomorphs consisting of a left-facing lion hunting a pair of long-horned ibexes. Custom putty impression included. Size: 0.875" W x 0.8" H (2.2 cm x 2 cm); 2.5" H (6.4 cm) on included custom stand.
Provenance: private Zaveloff collection, Lakewood, New Jersey, USA, acquired from Venus Gallery, Israel, in 2002

Condition
Minor abrasions to stamp face and suspension nubbin and light softening to some incised zoomorphs, otherwise intact and very good. Great preservation to overall form.
