This cotton red, cheddar, burgundy and green crossed tulips quilt is hand appliqued and hand quilted, with a floral vine border. The quilt dates back to the first quarter of the 20th century. It measures 70" X 90" and is in excellent, never washed condition, with a couple of tiny, faint spots and no wear. The quilt feels strong and sturdy overall and the colors are vibrant. The quilting is superb, with elaborate ripple, feathered and close grid designs quilted throughout at an even 8-9 stitches to the inch. The back is white, the hand stitched binding is the darker red used in the interior, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light.
