Description
Fifty-four (54) 19th century ceramic decorative items. 1st-49th items: Forty-nine (49) Manner of James Tassie (Scottish, 1735-1799) white plaster cameo molds depicting scenes from classical Greek or Roman mythology or biblical scenes. Unsigned. All with black cardstock collars to perimeters. Ranging in size from 1 1/8" to 2 5/8" L. 50th-51st items: Two (2) William Adams and Company, Tunstall, England black jasperware neoclassical covered urns with mask handles to upper shoulders, bas-relief friezes depicting Ancient Roman soldiers and men with chariots and horses to body, and anthemion leaves to square bases. Maker's marks stamped to underside of bases. Overall with lids: 10" H x 4 1/2" W. 52nd item: Jones and Walley, Cobridge, England Gipsey pattern light green stoneware jugs depicting high relief scenes of Roma (Gypsies) engaged in everyday camp life. Applied label with maker's marks and pattern name to underside of base. 6 5/8" H x 6 1/4" W. 53rd-54th items: Two (2) Staffordshire, England stoneware jugs with bas relief decorations, including one (1) with Neo-Classical motifs and gilt highlights on a light blue ground and one (1) depicting a hunt scene with an applied serpent spout and handle on a cream ground. Hunt scene vase with an applied label reading "I5" to underside of base. Ranging in size from 4 3/4" H x 6 1/2" W.

Deaccessioned by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Foundation to benefit the acquisitions fund.
Condition
All items in overall good condition.1st-49th items: Scattered fleabites, hairlines, and foxing spots. Museum accession numbers and traces of paste residue to underside of bases. Numerals, possibly museum invetory numbers to collars. 50th-51st items: Flaws in the making, 1/8" chip, to neck. Removed accession numbers, white archival tape labels to underside of lids or bases. 52nd item: Flaws in the making, primarily along the base. 1/2" chip to spout. Repaired break to handle with radiating 2 1/2" hairline extending to the upper body. 53rd-54th items: Both items with flaws in the making. 3/4" x 1/2" area of loss with radiating 1/4" hairline to jug with serpent spout. Areas of loss to gilt highlights, 1/4" chip to Neo-Classical jug.
