Graphically strong pieced Southern quilt made of cotton cloth in Oxblood brown, dark blue, and orange solid colors in the "Seven Stars" pattern (in reference to the star cluster "The Seven Pleiades" in the constellation Taurus). Quilting is by the piece. Quilting knots are visible on back. Initials "B. S." embroidered in a corner on back. 72" H x 89" W. Circa 1890.
